Who We Are:
Heart For Dog Rescue is a Non-Profit 501c3 organization dedicated to the physiological and psychological needs of abandoned dogs. Our organization consists of foster homes only. All foster dogs are part of our family and we take an incredible amount of time getting to know their needs and desires. We believe that knowing our fosters helps us meet the needs of both the dog and his/her forever family.
We spend time rehabilitating the dogs both physically and emotionally while they are in our care. Every dog sees a veterinarian who updates the dog on all shots, checks for parasites, tests for heartworm and diagnosis any other health needs that need addressed. From there, we work on the simple things like house breaking, walking on a leash, crate training and basic house manners. We will teach over exuberant dogs the reward in sitting calmly to be greeted, the fearful that it is safe to trust, and give those that have been treated unfairly a second chance at happiness.
Above all, we believe that public education is the most important thing we can do for unwanted dogs everywhere.
Our Commitment to You:
Dogs are an incredible commitment and that is why A Heart for Dog Rescue provides follow-up support to every dog that comes through our program. All of our foster homes have varying levels of behavioral training and we are willing to help anyone, anytime. If we do not know the answer, we will be happy to help you find an answer!
We Always Need Volunteers:
It takes many people with many different skills to touch the lives of all the animals we meet. We are always looking for foster homes and other volunteers to help with processing applications, making phone calls, and transportation to and from the vets office. Whether you have 15 minutes or hours to donate, no amount of time is too small. We can always use any amount of time you would like to give.
If you feel these animals tugging on our heart strings and would like to share your time and personal gift with us, please fill out our online foster application
